ONE MAT's Digital Strategy sets the direction for how technology supports teaching, safeguarding and operational efficiency across The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton (TKAW) and ATAM Academy over the next three years. It was approved by trustees and forms the basis of our technical services planning and investment.

Four strategic pillars

1

Infrastructure

Reliable, secure networks, wireless coverage and broadband that meet DfE minimum standards at both academies.

2

Classroom Technology & AI

Purposeful, well-maintained classroom devices and a considered approach to the safe use of AI tools in teaching and learning.

3

Communication

Clear, consistent digital communication tools for staff, pupils, parents and carers across the Trust.

4

Financial & Environmental Sustainability

Value-for-money procurement and technology choices that reduce cost and environmental impact over the asset lifecycle.

How the strategy is delivered

Delivery is coordinated by the Technical Services Manager and tracked through a Trust Digital Action Plan spanning each academic year. Progress against the plan, together with key performance indicators covering service desk response, infrastructure uptime and classroom technology, is reported termly to FARCOM (the Trust's Finance, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee) and to each academy's Local Academy Board.

Roadmap at a glance

2026–27

Consolidate network and device foundations, embed the SLA/KPI framework, and align procurement with the Classroom and SEND Digital Procurement Checklist.

2027–28

Extend classroom technology provision, strengthen cyber security maturity, and review AI tools in use against DfE product safety guidance.

2028–29

Evaluate strategy outcomes against the five pillars and refresh the Trust's Digital Strategy for the following cycle.

Looking further ahead

Beyond 2029, the Trust's Five-Year Digital Technology Vision (2026–2031) builds on these four pillars and adds a fifth; Governance & Service Resilience, to strengthen oversight, team capacity and continuity planning as the strategy matures.

Alignment with DfE standards

The strategy is designed to help both academies meet the DfE's core digital and technology standards for broadband, cyber security, digital leadership and governance, filtering and monitoring, network switching and wireless networking, which schools and colleges are expected to meet by 2030.
